Charlotte is a shareholder in the firm and has been practicing public accounting in Hillsborough County, Florida since 1985. She has significant experience in taxation with an emphasis on closely held companies, individuals, trusts and estates.
Charlotte resides in Valrico with her husband, Drew. They have two daughters.

James E. Hurn

Equity Partner in the Firm
Jimmy has been a partner of the firm since 1980 and has been practicing with this firm in the public accounting profession since 1973. He has been responsible for tax planning and compliance services for a broad range of clientele, including manufacturers, law firms, engineering and architectural firms, dentists, and both wholesale and retail businesses. He has also been involved in all phases of audits, reviews and compilations. Jimmy has extensive experience in tax planning and compliance at the individual, partnership, trust and corporate levels and has been involved in various aspects pertaining to the sale and acquisition of a variety of businesses. Jimmy manages the firm’s Tampa office.
Jimmy is a resident of Clearwater, Florida and a lifetime resident of the Tampa/Clearwater area. He is married to Gail L. Hurn. He has three grown children and a stepson.

Since 1986, Karen has been involved in various facets of public accounting including audit, review, compilation and tax services for a variety of businesses, nonprofit organizations, governments and individuals. She has been responsible for the firm’s system of quality control since 2005.

Lisa joined the firm in January 2011. She has over eight years experience in public accounting, including audit and tax services for various industries.
Lisa and her husband, Michael, reside in Lakeland with their dog Abbey.

Dee Stephens
Enrolled Agent
Dee has been with the firm since 1985. In addition to her tax, bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities, she manages the firm’s human resource administrative function.
Dee has been a resident of Tampa, Florida since 1968. She is very active in supporting breast cancer awareness and research. Other activities center around church and family.

Susan has over 30 years experience in bookkeeping and has been with the firm since 1999.
Susan has been married for 32 years to Ron. They have one adult son, Jeff, and one canine son, Homer.

Kellie Carson
Senior Staff Accountant
Kellie joined Bella, Hermida, Hurn & Stertzer in July 2008 as a member of the tax department. Kellie spent the first eight years of her accounting career at two small local accounting firms. She prepares individual, corporate, partnership, trust, gift, and estate tax returns. She also has prepared payroll, payroll tax returns, and sales tax returns. She has experience with Quickbooks, Peachtree & Quicken.
Kellie and her husband, Tony, reside in Lakeland with their children.

Helen K. Donovan
Administrative Assistant
Helen has been with the firm since 1990 and manages all administrative tasks for the firm’s Tampa office.
Helen, a lifelong native of Tampa, currently resides in St. Petersburg with her husband, Terry. She has a daughter, Tammy, and two stepsons, Scott and Todd. She has two grandchildren, KJ and Makayla, and three step-grandchildren, Joshua, Aubrey and Arwen.

Stacy Lawrence
Administrative Assistant
Stacy has been with the firm since 1992 and is responsible for firm billing and accounts payable in addition to her many other administrative responsibilities.
Stacy is married to David Lawrence. They live in Plant City with their three children – Shayna, Trey and Shelby.

Tami joined the firm June 2010. She is responsible for administrative duties as well as processing tax returns. Tami has lived in the Plant City area since 1981; she has 3 sons, Darryl, Bradley and Chase.
